Ex-USec says Sugar Order 4 was meant to deal with ‘pressing’ scarcity


THE Agriculture Undersecretary who resigned following the recall of Sugar Order (SO) No. 4 mentioned he signed the order after a gathering with the President satisfied him of the pressing have to import 300,000 metric tons of sugar, including that he believed he was totally licensed to behave in such a way.
