Solar installations in the U.S. reached a record high during 2020 as supportive policies offset the impact from the pandemic.
Installations soared 43% from 2019, reaching a record of new capacity. The U.S. currently has enough solar capacity to power about 17.7 million homes. California, Texas and Florida were the top three states for annual solar additions for the second year running.
Oil giant Shell has signed contracts for ten new supertankers powered by LNG. The ships are being built in South Korea, and are expected to hit the water in 2022.
Walmart is pushing further into the fashion world by hiring Brandon Maxwell, a designer who dresses celebrities from Lady Gaga to Michelle Obama.
Maxwell will oversee the discounter’s elevated brands, Scoop and Free Assembly, as creative director.
